  • Changes will reduce congestion during peak times

  • Prices for advanced single tickets remain cheapest ever, starting at £5.50
  • Paddington to Heathrow in 15 minutes on Heathrow Express
  • Heathrow Express is family friendly with kids under 15 travelling for free

Heathrow Express is to encourage more passengers to travel during off peak times.

From 6 June 2016 ‘turn up and pay’, standard peak time (7am to 10am) tickets will increase from £22 to £24 for a single journey. Following this, between 18 July and 31 August, off peak standard return tickets will be reduced from £36 to £25. For passengers travelling in Business Class a single ‘turn up and pay’ ticket will rise from £30 to £32 throughout the day.

The changes will reduce congestion during the morning peak and for business passengers throughout the day, while attracting more customers to use the Heathrow Express service during off peak times.  Charging different prices for peak and off peak journeys is a standard industry practice.

By planning ahead and booking online passengers can get great deals. The cost of purchasing an advanced standard single for the Heathrow Express is £5.50 – the service has never been cheaper than this. Passengers booking on the day of travel can still get today’s peak-time fare of £22 for a single, standard journey. Furthermore kids under 15 travel for free, making Heathrow Express the family-friendly train line.

Heathrow Express offers a premium experience. It’s the fastest way to get from Heathrow to central London with a journey time of 15 minutes. It offers designated space for luggage, free WiFi and at seat power.  In the autumn National Rail Passenger Survey Heathrow Express was scored 95% in overall satisfaction by customers.

Fraser Brown, Director of Heathrow Express said:
“Heathrow Express is the quickest way to get from central London to Heathrow and is well regarded by passengers who score it highly for customer satisfaction.

“It is an increasingly popular way to get to the airport and these changes will continue to protect the great service we give our passengers.”
