With Christmas just around the corner, what better way to get in the festive spirit than a wander around London's Christmas markets. With so many to choose from, we round up our top 5 picks of the year.

1) Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park

Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park has become London’s biggest and most popular festive market. With a huge ice rink, two circuses, an observation wheel, rides, Santa’s Grotto, and themed bars for the grown-ups, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

2) Wintertime Festival at Southbank

Eat, drink and be merry beside the River Thames with the return of the enchanting Winter Market and pop-ups, offering the very best in global street food, craft beers, artisan gifts and more. Take part in free performances, workshops and family activities with storytelling, dancing, music and crafts for all ages. As darkness falls, be entertained by sparkling comedy and cabaret nights.

3) Winterville in Clapham Common, Clapham

 Winterville in Clapham Common, Clapham

Winterville is back, featuring more dancing and eating. Expect live DJs, comedy, musical bingo and exclusive pop-ups for the family to enjoy. Plus, the ever-popular Ice Rink will be back while Twisted Wheels Roller Disco is the only place in London to boogie on wheels, whilst eating food provided by the one and only Street Feast.

4) Christmas in Leicester Square

Back for 2018 the world-famous Leicester Square is transformed into a magical festival brimming with Christmas fun, from festive shopping to Christmas shows and family activities. Get some last-minute stocking fillers from the range of stalls and then warm up with a wintery drink and a bite to eat. 

Admission Fee: Entry to Christmas in Leicester Square is free, but tickets must be bought for selected events, including Santa's Grotto and some performances.

Dates:  Until 6 January 2019

Location: London's Leicester Square. The nearest tube stations are Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus, the nearest rail station is Charing Cross.

5) Kingston Christmas Market

Featuring over 50 stalls in beautiful wooden chalets and a heated marquee selling festive goodies, arts, crafts and decorations, you’ll be sure to pick up some fabulous gifts for all the family at Kingston Christmas Market.

The market will feature two large outdoor bar areas serving up steaming mugs of mulled wine along with classic German-style street food and street entertainment allowing you to really soak up the festive atmosphere.
