The top tours and attractions to see in London
Head out of the city with these out of London day trips

Get to know your transport options
Whilst the tube can appear complex, it’s simple to navigate once you get the hang of it. The city’s bus network is extensive and ideal to hop on and hop off as you explore the city.
The easiest way to pay is by using a contactless debit card, which you can tap as you get on and off the bus and go in and out of tube stations. Oyster card are also a good option if you want to load money onto a card for transport while you're on holiday. Oyster cards can be used on the Heathrow Express too.

Understand that attractions are closer than you think
Yes, once you’ve mastered the tube, it’s super easy to zip around London. But many attractions are actually closer than they seem.
If you find yourself in Trafalgar Square and fancy Covent Garden next, it might be tempting to head down into Charing Cross station to get the tube. Stretch your legs instead for your eight-minute walk where you’ll see sights including the historic Covent Garden Market – you might even catch a street performance on your way too. From Covent Garden, you can walk to Leicester Square, down to The Strand or up to Soho.
With so many of London’s sights closely packed together, you won’t miss anything if you walk.

Plan your budget and sample street food
Before you arrive in London, it’s important to plan your budget. It can be an expensive city if you want to sample its Michelin-starred restaurants and enjoy afternoon tea at The Ritz.
But London doesn’t have to be expensive, as there are plenty of cheaper options to consider too. The city is famous for its street food, with countless street food vendors at the many markets spread across its boroughs. Some of our favourites include Camden Market, Seven Dials Market, Brick Lane Market, Borough Market and Old Spitalfields Market.
On average, you can expect to pay around £6.50 to £10 for street food dishes across London.

Get to know your British etiquette
British people can be very particular when it comes to manners and etiquette. Queuing in an orderly fashion is very important – especially when waiting in line for attractions or transport. People value their personal space on public transport too. You’ll also go far when dealing with British people if you use plenty of “please” and “thank you”. Also, don’t be late – being punctual is very important in the UK.

Book attractions in advance to save time
Got a whole schedule of sights to see in one day? The last thing you want to do is stand in line waiting to buy your tickets. With your ticket already in hand, you can head straight in. And for super busy attractions like the London Eye, you can even book priority boarding to bypass the queue. Golden Tours has all your needs covered.
