The closest train station to Heathrow is in fact in the airport itself. Heathrow is home to two train stations, Heathrow Central train station and Terminal 5 train station. You’ll simply hop off the train at the station and stroll to your terminal or take a shuttle bus depending on where you’re flying from.

Heathrow is the largest and busiest airport in the UK, with a whole travel interchange within its borders – including a dedicated train line in and out of the airport.

Which train services can get you to Heathrow?

There are two main train services that can get you to Heathrow: the Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth Line. Both use the same track from London Paddington and stop at Heathrow Central and Terminal 5 station.

The Heathrow Express is the fastest option of the two, and runs direct from Paddington to Heathrow with a journey time of just 15 minutes. Elizabeth Line services on the other hand take around 27 minutes to do the same journey, with a number of stops in between.

How to get to Terminal 4

Terminal 4 doesn’t have its own dedicated train station, but it’s still easy to get to when you take the train into Heathrow. Simply leave the Heathrow Express at Heathrow Central train station and walk to the bus station outside. Here you can hop on a quick shuttle bus that will take you to the terminal in just a few minutes.
