How do I get from Stratford to Heathrow Airport?

Once at Stratford, simply board the Elizabeth line to London Paddington which is just six stops away. Once at London Paddington, the Heathrow Express is the fastest way to travel non-stop to Heathrow Central, taking just 15 minutes.  

The Heathrow Express is the easiest way to arrive at Heathrow Airport with plenty of time before your flight. Heathrow Express trains leave London Paddington every 15 minutes.  

When you arrive at London Paddington on the Elizabeth Line, head up to the station’s main concourse. The dedicated Heathrow Express platforms are 6 and 7. We do occasionally use different platforms at Paddington, so look out for the boards at the station and use your journey planner.

The tube journey from Stratford to London Heathrow on the Elizabeth Line can take around one hour. There are no direct trains.  

The quickest option for rail travel is to journey from Stratford to London Paddington and board the Heathrow Express at Paddington. Your journey will be as short as possible, as journey times are just 15 minutes between Paddington and London Heathrow. 

With Heathrow Express, you'll be at Heathrow Central in 15 minutes, with an extra journey time of six minutes to Terminal 5 station. Our trains leave Paddington every 15 minutes. If you’re travelling from Stratford to either Terminal 2 or 3, leave the Heathrow Express service at Heathrow Central. To get to Terminal 4, simply jump on a quick shuttle bus from Heathrow Central.

 

Is there a direct train between Stratford and London Heathrow Airport (LHR)

No, there is no direct train from Stratford to London Heathrow. You can travel direct on the tube, using the new Elizabeth Line. However, with journey times of just 15 minutes from Paddington to London Heathrow, the fastest option to travel from Stratford to London Heathrow is to change at Paddington and travel non-stop to Heathrow Central on the Heathrow Express.

 

How much does it cost to get from Stratford to Heathrow?

Book your Heathrow Express ticket as early as you can, to make sure your journey is as cost effective as possible. By booking at least 90 days in advance and securing an Advanced Purchase Single you can save up to 40% of the cost of your train ticket. Children aged 15 and under also travel free. 

When purchasing your ticket closer to the day you're travelling, you can expect to pay under £30 for an Anytime Single on Express Class and just over £30 for an Anytime Single on Business First Class. If you're picking someone up at Heathrow and making a return journey, an Anytime Day Return on Express Class will cost just under £40.
