Travelling between Heathrow and Gatwick by train is simple, straightforward and quick with Heathrow Express.

When landing at Heathrow, simply catch the Heathrow Express from the airport for a non-stop journey into London Paddington. Once at London Paddington, make your way to the London Underground and catch the Circle Line to Victoria Station. The Gatwick Express then runs direct into Gatwick Airport from Victoria.

London Heathrow to Gatwick

Heathrow Express connects Heathrow Terminals to London Paddington, in approximately 15 minutes. With four trains every hour into London Paddington from Heathrow Airport it offers the quickest route into the capital from Heathrow, compared to the London Underground and other rail services, as well as airport taxis.

Once you land at Heathrow Airport, simply make your way to one of the two dedicated train stations. If you arrive into Terminal 2 or 3, catch the Heathrow Express from Heathrow Central, or jump on at Terminal 5 station if you landed into Heathrow at this terminal. Passengers arriving at Terminal 4 will need to hop on a quick shuttle bus into Heathrow Central.

Heathrow Express travels non-stop from Heathrow Central, arriving into Paddington in approximately 15 minutes. At Paddington, make your way from our dedicated Heathrow Express platform (either platform six or seven) and head to the London Underground to catch the Circle Line direct to Victoria Station.

Gatwick Express trains offer a 30-minute non-stop service from London Victoria to Gatwick Airport.

Can I buy one ticket for the entire journey?

When travelling between Heathrow and Gatwick by train, you’ll need to purchase tickets for both separately.

How much does it cost to get from Heathrow to Gatwick?

When booking with Heathrow Express to travel between London Heathrow and London Paddington, you can make cost savings of up to 40% when booking in advance. For an Advanced Saver ticket, you’ll need to book at least 90 days in advance to secure a ticket for just £15. Tickets purchased closer to the day of travel will cost £25 for an Anytime Single to travel on our Express Class, or £32 for an Anytime Single on our Business First Class.

A standard-class single on the Gatwick Express costs approximately £17.70 and can be purchased online from the Gatwick Express website. A single journey on the London Underground between London Paddington and London Victoria will be between £2.40 and £4.90, depending on whether you pay on an Oyster Card or by cash.
