The Farringdon to London Heathrow Airport Route

It’s a quick and simple journey from Farringdon to Heathrow, with just two stages to your trip. The first is travelling from Farringdon to London Paddington. And the second is a short 15-minute train journey on the Heathrow Express to the airport.

Here we’ll detail both legs, to help you plan your trip.

Buying Tube Tickets to Paddington from Farringdon

You have a few different options to buy your London Underground tickets. You can simply tap in with your debit or credit card on the ticket machines to pay contactless. Or you can use your Oyster Card or buy a paper ticket from the ticket machine.

Getting from your Farringdon tube to the Heathrow Express

Once you arrive at London Paddington, make your way to the main concourse. If you’re arriving on the Tube from Farringdon, you’ll need to follow the signs up to the train station. When in the main concourse, head through the ticket barriers and scan your Heathrow Express ticket. Heathrow Express trains usually run from platforms six and seven.

Check the boards when you first arrive at the station, just in case we’re leaving from a different platform. This does happen occasionally.

Arriving into Heathrow from Farringdon

Heathrow Express trains glide into Heathrow in just 15 minutes. The first stop is Heathrow Central station and the second is Terminal 5 station – just an extra six minutes on the train.

If you’re flying from Terminal 2, 3 or 4, depart the train at Heathrow Central. You can walk to check-in at either Terminal 2 or 3 using the inter-terminal walkway. It should take you between five and 10 minutes. Terminal 4 is a short shuttle bus away – the buses run regularly and take just a few minutes to get to the terminal.

If you’re flying from Terminal 5, leave the train at Terminal 5 station then head up the escalators to check-in.
