How to get from St Pancras to Paddington

The fastest option to get from St Pancras to Paddington is the Circle Line or Hammersmith & City Line from King's Cross St Pancras station. It’s just five stops and takes around eight minutes, with no changes required.

You could take a cab from St Pancras to Paddington, travelling down Euston Road with a journey time of around 10 minutes. Alternatively, if you have time to walk and fancy a stroll in the fresh air, it should take you around 35-40 minutes. You can also take the bus and jump on the 46 to Paddington.

It’s important to know that St Pancras and King’s Cross stations are right next door to each other, and you can walk between them in minutes. They share a tube station too: King’s Cross St Pancras.

Finding the Heathrow Express platform in Paddington

Once you arrive at London Paddington, make your way to the main concourse to take your Heathrow Express train. We usually run from platforms six and seven, so head through the ticket barriers with your Heathrow Express ticket – whether on your smartphone if you’re using our app or your physical ticket in your hand.


It’s important to always check the boards at the station in case we’re leaving from a different platform. Most days we’re six and seven, but occasionally we’ll be required to switch. Just keep your eyes peeled.

Arriving at Heathrow

Our Heathrow Express trains take just 15 minutes to travel from London Paddington to Heathrow. They first arrive at Heathrow Central station, located between Terminals 2 and 3, then travel on to Terminal 5 station.

If you’re flying from Terminal 2 or 3, leave the Heathrow Express at Heathrow Central. It’s then just a short walk to either terminal using the underground walkway.

Leave the Heathrow Express at Heathrow Central. You can take the Elizabeth Line for free from Heathrow Central to Terminal 4.

Stay on the Heathrow Express for another six minutes into Terminal 5 station. The station has direct access to both departures and arrivals in Terminal 5.
