It’s a super simple journey from St Pancras International to Heathrow Airport, with just two stages to your trip. The first is travelling from St Pancras to London Paddington. Once at Paddington, it’s just a quick 15-minute train journey on the Heathrow Express to Heathrow Airport.

How to get from St Pancras to Paddington

The first leg of your journey is the trip from St Pancras station to London Paddington. You have a few different options depending on how much time you have. You can choose to take a cab from St Pancras to Paddington, travelling down Euston Road with a journey time of around 10 minutes. Alternatively, if you have time to walk and fancy a stroll in the fresh air, it should take you around 35-40 minutes. You can also take the bus and jump on the 205 to Paddington.


You’ll likely find that the quickest way to get to Paddington is on the London Underground. Make your way to King’s Cross St Pancras tube station and hop on the Circle Line or Hammersmith & City Line. It’s just five stops on the tube to Paddington and there’s no need to change tube lines.


It’s important to know that both St Pancras train station and King’s Cross station are right next door to each other, and you can walk between them in minutes. They share a tube station too – King’s Cross St Pancras.

Finding the Heathrow Express platform in Paddington

Once you arrive at London Paddington, make your way to the main concourse to take your Heathrow Express train. We usually run from platforms six and seven, so head through the ticket barriers with your Heathrow Express ticket – whether on your smartphone if you’re using our app or your physical ticket in your hand.


It’s important to always check the boards at the station in case we’re leaving from a different platform. Most days we’re six and seven, but occasionally we’ll be required to switch. Just keep your eyes peeled.

Arriving at Heathrow Airport

Our Heathrow Express trains take just 15 minutes to travel from London Paddington to Heathrow Airport. They first arrive at Heathrow Central station, which is located between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3. It’s just a short walk using the underground walkway to get to each terminal. For flights from Terminal 4, it’s just a quick shuttle bus ride to the terminal from Heathrow Central. If you’re flying from Terminal 5, stay on the Heathrow Express for another six minutes into Terminal 5 station.
