How to get from Victoria to Paddington

The first leg of your journey is from Victoria station to London Paddington. The quickest way is on the London Underground. Head down using the stairs, escalators or lifts at Victoria train station to Victoria Underground station below. Hop on the District or Circle Line westbound and it will take you direct to Paddington in just seven stops. There’s no need to change tube lines. You can pay for the tube and your Heathrow Express train ticket online with us before your journey, to save time at the station.


If you’ve got a little more time, you can walk between the two stations but it will take you close to an hour. You can also take a cab, which will take around 15 minutes once you flag one down.

Getting to the Heathrow Express platform in Paddington

Once you arrive at London Paddington, make your way to the main concourse. If you’re arriving on the tube, follow the signs up to the train station. When in the main concourse, head through the ticket barriers towards the platforms. Our trains usually run from platforms six and seven.


Make sure you check the boards when you arrive at Paddington, as we occasionally leave from different platforms. It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes it does.

The Heathrow Express is the fastest and smoothest way to get from London Paddington to Heathrow Airport. The journey takes just 15 minutes, and our trains leave Paddington every 15 minutes. With four trains running every hour, your journey to Heathrow Airport will be seamless and easy.


Once you’re on the train, relax and settle into your seat. You’ll find ample legroom and there’s plenty of space to store your all-important luggage. All our trains have Wi-Fi throughout, so you can connect your devices as you travel. You can keep them charged too, with the plug socket at your seat. You’ll find our trains have level access at both Paddington and Heathrow, ensuring they are accessible for wheelchair users. Children aged 15 and under also travel for free on Heathrow Express.

How long does it take to get from Victoria to London Heathrow?

Journeys from London Victoria to Heathrow will usually take around 45 minutes to one hour depending on the day, method and time of travel.
By choosing to jump on the Heathrow Express from Paddington you will be able to ensure your journey is around 45 minutes. Heathrow Express trains from Paddington take just 15 minutes to reach Heathrow Central station and an extra six minutes to arrive into Heathrow Terminal 5 station.

Heathrow Express trains arrive into Heathrow Airport at first Heathrow Central then Heathrow Terminal 5 station. Heathrow Central serves both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3, while there is a shuttle bus that connects to Terminal 4 with just a short journey. Passengers flying from Terminal 5 will need to stay on the train for approximately six more minutes and disembark at Terminal 5 station.

Is there a direct train between London Victoria and London Heathrow Airport (LHR)?

There is no direct train from Victoria to Heathrow, but by choosing to travel on the Heathrow Express from London Paddington you can enjoy the fastest route non-stop into the airport from the capital ensuring you arrive at Heathrow in plenty of time for your flight.

How much does it cost to get from London Victoria to Heathrow?

The cost of travelling from Victoria Station to Heathrow, will depend on your chosen route and method of transport. If you plan your journey as early as possible there are also savings to be made.

By opting to travel to Heathrow Airport on the Heathrow Express, you can travel between London Paddington and the Airport for just £15. Arriving at Heathrow Airport

Having boarded your Heathrow Express train at Paddington, you’ll arrive at Heathrow Airport just 15 minutes later. The first stop is Heathrow Central station, located between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 – it’s just a short walk from here to either terminal. If you’re flying from Terminal 4, get off the Heathrow Express train at Heathrow Central and take the short shuttle bus to the terminal. For flights from Terminal 5 station, stay on the Heathrow Express train for another six minutes into Terminal 5 station.
